Opening the boxes and seeing that there were enough kits for each of them to do their very own, not to have to share, and get to keep the project has them asking every day, \"When do we go with you, Mrs. Madrid.?\" \r\nIt is so nice to see them working together and using the academic vocabulary while they build! The vocabulary is usually what makes it so hard, but having the actual project in their hands and being able to see the parts (solar panels, wind turbines) makes it all make sense for them. \r\nYour generosity, thoughtfulness, and kindness has made the start of this school year one they will always remember. Our third graders had been envious of the 4th and 5th grade keyboards for many years now. I let them unpack them and start right away. Never did I expect just enthusiasm for keyboards.I have 2 students who actually convinced their parents to buy them one for home so they could work over the summer and become more fluent. \r\n We really do appreciate your kindness and generosity helping us reach our goal of every student having an available keyboard to use throughout the year. I am the STEM specials teacher and I was able to get them all familiar with the connection and the use of them before they took them back to their classrooms. The teachers shared their appreciation as well because now they could instruct the students to write/type longer and quicker narratives. \r\n The students at our school are now able to be more fully prepared for middle/high school. Several other elementary schools have access to keyboards and now we can be more competitive and give that gift of keyboard fluency to our students. Again, thank you donating and helping us reach our goal.","fullyFundedDate":1741043291260,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-equip-all-our-students-with-keyb/9051809/","projectTitle":"Help Us Equip All Our Students With Keyboards for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beshoar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8418758_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y409&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1706484841302","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8418758"},{"teacherId":4844043,"projectId":8537680,"letterContent":"These resources are a blessing! My students were absolutely astonished and the gleeful chatter in Spanish, English, and Spanglish was a joy to behold. We were talking about body parts, and the kids started to make their own person with the materials you generously donated. The littles (1st graders) were creating 3-D art with layering which we had spoken about earlier in the year and and some others were making a collage on their ornaments for Christmas that they will take home. All of the materials, with the variety of colors in the package, gave them some very bright ideas.\r\n My students were so happy about the supplies and very grateful especially when I explained to them that you were people who cared enough to help make sure they have the things they need to learn and master English. They asked me, \"Strangers did this?\" and I answered them that yes, people who don't even know you want you to succeed in life. The little smiles and the change in their body carriage and language was such a sight to see. \r\n Our next steps are to learn about plants, insects, and other outside themes. We will use the materials to create plants with labels, their own created insect, and life cycles for those things. They will also learn about diagrams and labeling them. I cannot express how grateful I am that you are out there supporting us and making it easier to translate English into something they can actually touch and manipulate and make sense of.","fullyFundedDate":1732058365811,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-is-the-best-way-to-learn/8537680/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Is the Best Way to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Madrid","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4844043_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506630418895","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmadridesl"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43031","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":374,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.5,"schoolId":43031,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oak Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oak Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/montrose-co-sch-dist-re-1j/oak-grove-elementary-school/43031"}
