They are fascinated by not only the subject matter, but by the syntax and rhetorical choices O'Brien uses in his writing. \r\n\r\n\"There There,\" by Tommy Orange, is making an impact on my reluctant 11th grade students. They are eager to reach the climax of the story--and have never read such a contemporary and moving novel which has characters they are able to relate to on such a personal and intimate level. \r\n\r\nEach class has asked for more by the same author!
