We have been able to start small, and there is growing interest and a wait list to rotate into the club next quarter. It is inspiring to see students try something new and learn a lifelong skill that can take their creativity to the next level, and stay with them throughout their life.\r\n\r\nStudents could not believe all of that was for them. They especially loved the hedgehog push pins, and had fun deciding what color they would use for the quarter. Right now, we are still on the basics of use, but my hope is to finish the quarter by making a tote bag for them to carry their books to and from school with.","fullyFundedDate":1755743511789,"projectUrl":"project/sewing-part-2/9273036/","projectTitle":"Sewing Part 2","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Scully Cady","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9294816_orig.jpg?crop=2094,2094,x173,y257&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723046649344","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9294816"},{"teacherId":9298542,"projectId":9829852,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom! Your donations have allowed us to start 2026 with a full working classroom set of highlighters with plenty of backups. We use our color-coded annotation system almost every single day to annotate increasingly high-level texts. My students were very excited to see their table supplies upgraded for the new year! The sound of highlighter caps clicking enthusiastically is so wonderful to hear. \r\n\r\nRight now, we are in the midst of starting our Fantasy Literature unit, during which we read \"A Wizard of Earthsea\" by Ursula K. Le Guin. With a Lexile rating of 1150L and deep philosophical themes, this novel will certainly be challenging for many of my students. A reliable color-coded annotation system will help them to break down this complex text and build confidence in their reading abilities. As a college and career educator, the while board allows me to easily track students' post-secondary pathways. Students have also greatly enjoyed the selection of pencils, both traditional and mechanical. The motivational statements on the pencils bring a smile to students' faces. Students also enjoy bouncing on the yoga ball as an alternative seating option/ regulatory technique. \r\n\r\nThe filing cabinet has been especially impactful. Partnered with the multi-colored file folders, the cabinet has aided me in ensuring that student documents stay confidential. I cannot thank you enough for that contribution! Additionally, we have had our second round of research writing, and my students loved being able to utilize the new books. It is exciting to see the younger generation enjoying thumbing through physical books, parsing out what information they are looking for that is relevant to their research. A lot of them prefer the physical material! I think it gives them a bigger sense of accomplishment when they find and read something useful rather then just \"asking a question in Google and see the answer pop up.\" Thank you for adding to my classroom's growing collection of folktale books from around the world.
