With your help, I have been able to introduce new social and emotional curriculums and books to support social and emotional learning for students with disabilities. The students have shown so much growth in their skills and in their behaviors this year, with support from our staff, as well as the support they have received from materials provided by donors like you! Your contributions have helped me to grow my practice as a school psychologist, to better serve special education students, and all of their unique mental health needs. \r\n\r\nMy kindergarten and first grade students have been loving working with the Little Spot curriculum. We have utilized many of the books, including Scribble Spot and the Emotion books to help support understanding of emotional identification and labeling. In addition to reading the texts, we use many fun activities from the Teacher Guide to build on our learning. The students have especially loved activities such as designing an \"Emotion Controller\", and other worksheets that use crafting materials such as coloring, cutting and gluing! Additionally, my younger students have loved playing Chutes and Ladders to help practice social skills such as good sportsmanship, sharing, and turn taking. \r\n\r\nWith my older students, I have utilized the Mindfulness and Coping Skills texts that were provided, as well as many of the sensory tools such as the Jellyfish light and the yoga mats. These resources have helped students to learn coping skills and self regulation skills to better manage their emotions. Additionally; students have been enjoying the Anger game, and Calm Ball to help support their ability to manage feelings of frustration, and to learn to cope with feelings of anger in safe and healthy ways. Thank you again for helping to provide resources for all of my students.
