I told my team about the materials weeks earlier and they were so excited as well. After unpacking the box and looking at the gel boards, I couldn't wait to use them with my students the next day. Of course, I tried them out immediately and showed my principal and some colleagues. \r\n The next day during our instructional time with first grade I took the gel boards out and showed my students. They could hardly wait to use them to practice their sound/letter(s) portion of the lesson. I modeled the expectations for using the boards and then we were off. \r\n My students were so engaged with the lesson and using the boards. It was not only educational but fun as well. The icing on the cake was the clean up. It was so much quicker and less cumbersome than sand to clean up. Transitioning to the next part of the lesson was smooth and more efficient, allowing more instructional time. I have since been able to use the gel boards across the grade levels. Thank you so much for investing in my students.","fullyFundedDate":1732645825936,"projectUrl":"project/multi-sensory-minus-the-mess/8587266/","projectTitle":"Multi-Sensory Minus the Mess","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jensen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9259784_orig.jpg?crop=1946,1946,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723509036042","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9259784"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63983","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":534,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.9,"schoolId":63983,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Remington Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Remington Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/falcon-school-district-49/remington-elementary-school/63983"}
