Every other month we change our dramatic play and with you generous donations my students could not be more happy. In the puppet theater the students are creating fun stories. It dramatic play started with family. We were able to use all the dolls and accessories to be able to create more realistic family roles. We then moved into a flower shop. My students have been switching roles where some are customers and they are creating bouquets to hand out to classmates, using pretend money, learning how to communicate and problem solve. Other students are the workers and creating what customers request. It is so fun to watch. In April we will have an animal hospital. When they arrived the kids were so excited to pick a color and claim one as their own. We talked about care and use of the product and they treat them with such respect. We even have created a class job for making sure they are safely put away at the end of the school day. \r\n\r\nStudents have used these floor pillows to work around the room during independent class time, have used them to make their own personal spot during our read aloud in the morning. The most interesting thing I have seen students do with them is using them on top of their desk chair. They noticed that they are the perfect size and match up to create a cozy spot at their desk, and believe it or not they stay working longer because they are comfortable! \r\n\r\nWe greatly appreciate your support to make our classroom a comfortable and calm space.
