After working so hard on their state testing, my students enjoyed working on a collaborative LEGO Challenge. Students were asked to work with their table group to design the facade of a house using only the pieces that were in their LEGO box. Students planned and worked hard to create their facades (You can see their finished creations in the photos for this project.). After their creations were completed, I asked our PE Aide and STEAM Teacher to come in and \"judge\" their structures while students were at lunch. Their chosen winners got bragging rights and our school-wide PBIS prize tickets as their rewards. Students had so much fun! \r\n\r\nThis challenge was such a success that I hope to attempt a couple more before the year is over! The number stickers were great for organizing my student materials this year, so I am excited to use them again next year. I began using Dry Erase Pockets a few years ago, and they are a game-changer for the classroom. They work well as basic whiteboards, but can also turn any blank template into a reusable workmat quickly and easily! I am so grateful that I can restock this versatile item for my students next year! My classroom prize box is very popular! With puzzle cubes, like the Rubik's Cube, making a comeback, I am grateful that I was able to add them to my classroom prize box. Students were also given 3 raffle tickets on each day of testing. Students worked hard and stayed on task so that they could keep their 3 tickets and redeem them for ClassDojo points each day. The stamp, along with others I already had, was used to make sticky note \"stickers\" that were given to students who were demonstrating their best effort and showing their work while they were testing. Finally, after all students had completed all 4 parts of their state test, they were awarded a \"You Rock\" keychain to proudly display on their backpacks in honor of their accomplishment.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my classroom and students! Students are developing critical thinking skills as they troubleshoot designs, collaborate with peers, and persist through challenges.\r\n\r\nBeyond the standards, these kits have sparked excitement and curiosity across all grade levels. The elapsed time dice sets have created fun and random elapsed time scenarios for additional elapsed time practice.\r\n\r\nThese manipulatives make mathematics understandable, hands-on, and fun for all my students!
