Some students who typically feel anxious during the day are calmer and more regulated after having a peaceful recess option.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, recess has shifted from a stressful time for some students into a moment they genuinely look forward to. From the very first week, these books became a favorite part of our day. Whether we were reading together during whole-group story time or students were exploring books independently, it was clear how excited they were to dive into the world of reading.\r\n\r\nThe variety of books helped meet my students' wide range of reading levels and interests. Many began recognizing sight words, practicing reading strategies, and—most importantly—building a love for books. For some of my students, this was their first experience having access to a wide selection of age-appropriate and engaging books. It gave them the confidence to see themselves as readers, and that confidence carried over into their writing, vocabulary development, and classroom conversations.\r\n\r\nYour support made a lasting difference in our learning community. This funded project gives students more choices and fun new items for them to work for. \r\n\r\nStudents were excited to see all the new items. Many saw the boxes of items that I had and knew they were new items. They asked daily when they would be added to the store.
