Having the opportunity to provide the students with snack made such an impact on their ability to focus and persevere through the day. A lot of the students have told me in the morning they do not have time to eat breakfast in the morning or that they don't like the school breakfast, have allergies etc. Having snack on hand for my students gives them something to eat in the morning before going to lunch. Some of my past students have even come to grab a snack after school before going to their sports practice or games. I didn't realize how many hungry kids we have, you have truly blessed not only my class but our school community. I am so grateful to be able to provide them with the stability of knowing that what that they have what they need to be successful. I also want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart because I know how much of a financial burden back to school time can put on our families. We live in a title one district which means more than half of our student population lives in poverty, back to school essentials can put a big financial burden on these families, because of the help from Donors choose, I was able to lessen the burden on them.","fullyFundedDate":1753961322741,"projectUrl":"project/new-year-new-students/9404101/","projectTitle":"New Year, New Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8917217_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673045173195","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-lopez777"},{"teacherId":8917217,"projectId":9266684,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations and help for my students. Every week we checked in with a flashlight and watched how much each embryo changed over the weeks until finally they started hatching! We did lose 3 eggs along the way, as much as it was sad it was also a great opportunity to talk about what can happen during the egg development. I did buy an extra ducking from our local farm store to even out or number. We will be keeping them for about a week before sending them on to their forever home. The students got to pick from a list of project themes and they all did a wonderful job. For many of them, this was the first time they had made their own project for the science fair. We had topics ranging from muscle growth factors and robots to boys vs girls multi-tasking. It was wonderful watching my students become so engaged in researching and testing their topics. Our top placing project was a student who studied the effects of video gaming. We also tested some surfaces around the classroom with our petri dishes and will continue testing things around the school to see the germs around us. Thank you so much for your support!
