As an English teacher, I firmly believe that books are the greatest tool for sharing the power of language, words, and stories. With your donations, students can now read books handpicked by a team of teachers who also share a love for reading! \r\n\r\nAfter my first class's sustained silent reading section, I had a student who came up to me and said, \"I did not think I would like that, but class went by so fast! Reading felt like watching a movie but only in my head.\" That is the power of having these incredible stories written, it build reading comprehension skills, enhances reading enjoyment, boosts overall literacy, and so much more.\r\n\r\nThank you for allowing me to share my love of reading with our whole school!","fullyFundedDate":1744661896306,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-school-library-from-scratch/9136144/","projectTitle":"Building a School Library From Scratch","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7290295_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y897&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1678295283020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-hvo"},{"teacherId":7290295,"projectId":9079905,"letterContent":"The stickers are a hit! Similar to teaching, sometimes the flashier things get more praise, but ultimately, the access to scissors, glue sticks, post it notes (the basics), are what carry our lessons to their goal. I am sincerely so appreciative, I was finally able to carry out my vision of having students do a \"subclaim party\" where they used the sticky notes to indicate when each subclaim paragraph was completed. This allowed me to visually monitor and congratulate each student as they were writing their argumentative essay.\r\n\r\nNot only were the post-it notes an invaluable resource, the scissors allowed me to give each student a pair for use during our classroom activity instead of having three pairs total for the whole class to share. I had students cut out bookmarks for the book we are reading, and they loved being able to customize their own bookmarks! This would have taken much more time if I was not granted the privilege of having a full class set of scissors. I cannot emphasize enough how appreciative I am, along with my students who are honored by your contributions to making their educational experience more awesome.","fullyFundedDate":1741047441643,"projectUrl":"project/necessary-classroom-supplies/9079905/","projectTitle":"Necessary Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7290295_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y897&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1678295283020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-hvo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_123335","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":352,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":90.9,"schoolId":123335,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Summit Public School - Tamalpais on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Summit Public School - Tamalpais","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/west-contra-costa-unified-school-district/summit-public-school-tamalpais/123335"}
