The SliceIt box cutters have made it possible for every student to safely take part in building, designing, and testing their own projects — something that was once limited to just a few.\r\n\r\nStudents used the SliceIt cutters in several major projects this year, including Bottle Rockets, Planet Bases, Telescopes, and MESA Program competitions. During our Bottle Rocket unit, students applied Newton's Laws of Motion as they cut and shaped fins and stabilizers, improving rocket performance through design trials. For the Planet Base Project, they used the tools to build models of sustainable habitats on other worlds — bringing creativity and science together in every detail.\r\n\r\nThe safety and precision of the SliceIt cutters gave students the confidence to take ownership of their work. In our MESA projects, students proudly prototyped their own engineering solutions, from telescopes to model prosthetics, learning perseverance and teamwork along the way.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, students aren't just learning about science — they're experiencing it. Being able to sit at a table in the quad at lunch with many new titles for students to check out was such a fun experience! \r\nAlso, I was able to host multiple book tastings during the first few weeks of the year with many English classes for independent reading books, and they were peppered with brand new, high interest titles that were quickly snapped up. I'm so grateful to be able to offer these high interest books for students to continue our focus on literacy.
