The first day of school, when I introduced the students to their materials, there was a buzz in the room. Students flipped through their own notebooks, compared folder colors, and immediately started putting the supplies to use. The colored pencils became a favorite right away! During our history lesson on early humans, students used them to create cave paintings, carefully shading animals and symbols. It turned an ordinary activity into something they were genuinely proud to share.\r\n\r\nSince then, the notebooks, folders, and clipboards have become part of our daily work. Students use their journals for reading responses and writing practice, and many have said they like seeing their ideas collected in one place. The folders keep their drafts and handouts organized, which makes a big difference when we're working on longer writing projects. Having these resources has given them a sense of ownership and confidence that we were missing before.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Your support has transformed simple supplies into opportunities for creativity, organization, and pride. My students feel prepared and capable because of what you've given, and that excitement for learning will carry forward through the year.","fullyFundedDate":1749790424721,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-basics-building-a-classroom-fro/9399849/","projectTitle":"Back to Basics: Building a Classroom From the Ground Up","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Christian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10049703_orig.jpg?crop=799,799,x1827,y742&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749252193744","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/schristian"},{"teacherId":5452101,"projectId":9316262,"letterContent":"Fourth graders are incredibly creative, and they definitely love their new supplies!
