When the packages first arrived, the students were eager to see what was inside the boxes. They were able to help me put the yoga ball chairs together. They really enjoy being able to utilize them during lessons when they need some movement. They also love using them during their breaks to bounce. The bean bag chair is mostly utilized in the calm down corner when my students need a rest. After they get a few minutes to reset on the bean bag chair they are ready to take on the rest of their day. \r\nThe social situation cards are something that we use about once a week during our social time. I give the students the social situation and ask them questions about them. It has been a great way to start conversations about how to behave appropriately in different situations. Each Monday morning, students participate in mindfulness and the incredible tools you provided have enriched that time each week. The sound waves help to calm the mind and allows everyone in the room to settle in and prepare for focusing on the activity. As students relax on the mats and listen to the water fountain they understand how \"full\" their minds are and grasp how important it is to breathe while learning to be present.\r\n\r\nThe interactive \"mindfulness\" games have grown the community at school. Students are starting to discover ways to support and encourage each other. They listen to what is being shared and find various ways we are all connected. Empathy is being developed and hearts are being opened. Your donation has helped to improve my students' performance by providing a way to regulate their behavior and refocus their attention. \r\n\r\nThe new stool is now part of a \"Quiet Area\" in my classroom. When my students display anxiety, we encourage them to go to the quiet area, and most of them choose to sit on the new stool while in the calming area. This has made a huge impact on my student's behavior. The quiet area provides them with a safe place to calm down and also an outlet to fidget and release anxiety.\r\n\r\n We also love the stool's flexibility. When necessary, we move it from the quiet area to the main classroom.
