Public school funding is so limited and it has left teachers scrambling to supplement their programs, often out of our own pockets. For our youngest students, the need for quality materials is great and they can be very expensive. \r\nWhen I received our materials, both my students and I were so excited to use them. Our materials ranged from toys to support play based learning to creative seating throughout my classroom. In the future I would like to get projects funded that will allow me to continue to build an environment that is conducive to learning that is exciting to my 4 year olds. I was stunned at how quickly I got funded and received the materials. Because funding to public schools has been drastically cut, it has left teachers with having to find ways to fund our programs. Because I teach the youngest students, we need more materials to excite and inspire our students.\r\nWhen we received the materials, the kids were so excited, immediately going to play with them and I love that these toys are of a STEM nature and encourage them to think creatively. In the future I would like to continue to get even more materials to encourage play based learning, not just by allowing students to play freely and create on their own, but also designing small group lessons to enhance critical thinking and learning.
