It has been incredibly helpful in allowing me to find high-quality materials tailored to each child's individual goals without burnout. With these resources, I can support students with articulation, language, fluency, and social skills at various levels. Having a printer in my room makes it easy to quickly print materials for therapy sessions, so I can meet each student's needs efficiently. It provides a model for them of fluent and inflectional reading, while listening to a great story. Subsequently, we then have the opportunity to discuss elements of the novel as a class. The very best result of sharing a novel in my class is seeing many students get excited enough to explore a genre outside of their usual choice. Many find that they love the author's style and seek out books by the same author. It ecourages some reluctant readers make a choice to read more.\r\n\r\nReading \"Blood on the River\" has done all of these and more; it is teaching them intimately about colonial America and about events leading up to the Revolutionary War. \r\n\r\nYour generous donation toward my classroom copies of this novel has made more impact than you might imagine.","fullyFundedDate":1737490773063,"projectUrl":"project/learning-history-through-stories/9054508/","projectTitle":"Learning History Through Stories","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grant","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4797104_orig.jpg?crop=968,968,x189,y351&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690417348716","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4797104"},{"teacherId":7637596,"projectId":9057919,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your support and donations for the new sensory bins. The class shared that the sensory bins will help support developmental growth in language, social skills, cognitive abilities, and executive functioning. I work with students TK- 3 and all have absolutely enjoyed playing with the sensory bins. Last week we had a Valentines sensory bin with cupcake holders and students made a variety of flavors of cupcakes such as: strawberry, blueberry, and pizza flavor.
