My fifth grade students fully understood what it means to multiply fractions by seeing and using the foam manipulative fraction bars. What a blessing! They were able to visually see the bars and connect the concept to a tape diagram, then a number line and finally to the algorithm!!\r\nI am beyond excited and will be moving on to dividing fractions using the foam bar manipulatives as well.
