Because of you, my students now have access to high-quality headphones that allow them to create music on their Chromebooks, play electric drums without disruption, and fully immerse themselves in listening activities. These tools have opened up opportunities for them to explore music production, performance, and analysis in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nYour donation also provided a guitar tuner and guitar picks, which have made a tremendous difference for students learning to play guitar. With these resources, they can tune their instruments accurately, build confidence, and develop fundamental musical skills. Your kindness has directly enriched their creative experiences, and I can't thank you enough for helping bring more music into their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1758636470455,"projectUrl":"project/with-quality-headphones-our-students-ca/9658151/","projectTitle":"With Quality Headphones, Our Students Can Make Their Own Music!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9449132_orig.png?crop=1413,1413,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1706306714202","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9449132"},{"teacherId":9464828,"projectId":9140389,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, the students I serve have access to a fully re-stocked closet to meet their most basic needs. As you can see from the first picture posted, our Panther Closet was depleted at the end of last school year. The items funded through your thoughtful donations arrived in time for the beginning of the school year as we welcomed students on campus. \r\n\r\nI see the gratitude and relief in each student as I am able to meet their needs when they come into my office looking for a toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, or perhaps a pair of socks because they couldn't find a pair of clean socks anywhere in their house. The most amazing addition this year is the tea kettle that allows me to keep water warm all day for students who come in late and haven't had anything to eat. They know I have a cup of noodles or maybe some instant oatmeal to help them get through to lunch. What a difference this very basic item has made for many of my students!\r\n\r\nAs the school social worker on my campus, I am usually the first to hear about a student's needs. My room is known as the \"space to get your needs met.\" I have begun a list of requested items for our next re-stock in the Spring. My goal is to continue meeting basic needs on campus while working to get the students connected to community resources for their long-term needs. In the first 6 weeks of school, I have provided items from the re-stocked Panther Closet to more than 30% of our student population!","fullyFundedDate":1746786435076,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-re-stock-the-panther-closet/9140389/","projectTitle":"Help me re-stock the Panther Closet!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9464828_orig.jpg?crop=804,804,x0,y77&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1708026427486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9464828"},{"teacherId":5894571,"projectId":8707872,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support of my classroom. Thanks to your donation, my students now have access to an engaging curriculum, which has already made a tremendous difference in their learning experience.\r\n\r\nIn our alternative education high school, many students struggle with traditional learning methods, but this new curriculum has opened doors for engagement in ways I hadn't imagined. For example, the detailed labs have allowed them to visualize complex scientific concepts, interact with data in real time, and take ownership of their learning. I've seen students who were once hesitant to participate now eagerly experimenting, asking questions, and making connections that go beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things for my students has been the hands-on components. Watching them light up as they develop models based on their experiences has been incredible. A student who typically avoids class discussions recently used the activity to clearly articulate how matter can be described, several of its properties, and how it changes states of matter. This was a breakthrough moment for them. Another student, who previously struggled with written explanations, is now using this tool to demonstrate understanding in a way that builds their confidence.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is giving my students the opportunity to engage, explore, and succeed in ways they never thought possible. The glitter jars are not just a creative activity, but a powerful tool for promoting mindfulness, emotional regulation, and calm when a student is feeling anxious or angry. Thanks to your kindness, I was able to offer students a direct way to explore their creativity, explore their emotions, practice self-soothing, and engage in self-reflection.\r\n\r\nAs students joined the event, they were presented with a variety of textures and colors to choose from. Students were allowed space and time to add to their creation until it \"felt right\" to them. As each student decided they were satisfied with their jar, we spoke about ways they could use this tool to help them regulate their emotions when they felt angry, anxious, or sad. Students were encouraged to begin using their jar to support mindfulness exercises or as they prepared to focus their attention on a journal entry for the day. \r\n\r\nWe are incredibly fortunate to have donors like you who are committed to making a difference in our community. I am planning another glitter jar event as part of Mental Health Awareness during May. As students come in to see me and use the glitter jar created during this event, I am grateful for the gift that continues to promote calm, mindfulness and a way to regulate emotions. Your support is deeply appreciated, and I look forward to the positive ripple effects of this event on the students and their well-being. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping me to bring this enriching experience to life.
