The community in which I work has historically low literacy rates for both students and adults living in this neighborhood. Teaching in this reality has not only impressed upon me the importance of building literacy skills in the classroom, but also creating joy and love for reading that can transfer into life outside of the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne avenue into building a love and culture of reading in my classroom, and our school, is through more access to audiobooks where students are not only reading along, but practicing their listening skills as well. The contribution you have made to my classroom with more headphones and earbuds allows ALL of my students to access online books ranging from fiction to non-fiction.\r\n\r\nWhat was most exciting for me was to have students work in groups where they are reading and listening to the same text, and then work together to answer comprehension questions and have lively discussion and debate about the story they listened to. Your donation made this possible! Once again, thank you for supporting my students, community and classroom and engaging students in reading through a different modality.","fullyFundedDate":1742583016507,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-auditory-learners-tune-in-with/9178884/","projectTitle":"Help Our Auditory Learners Tune in with Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bustos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6969165_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728502498538","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6969165"},{"teacherId":6894508,"projectId":9034168,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your incredibly generous donation of books.
