We are so happy to be able to expand our mini fleet of trikes. We now have four trikes for the students to use funded by a variety of sources including our local education foundation, parents and you. I was amazed to see how many students needed to improve the gross motor skills needed to ride a tricycle. Although this is not a skill typically taught in Kindergarten, building core strength and confidence does benefit kindergarten students at school.\r\nThis tricycle project is part of a greater vision for our playground. In addition to adding tricycles to our playground this year, we repainted the blacktop with some garden themed stencils allowing students to combine academic learning and motor skills. The look on the faces of the students on the first day seeing the new art was truly priceless.
