My co teacher and I each have a sixth grade class. We share all the sixth grade students on campus. She teaches three subjects and I teach three subjects and the students switch half way through the day. \r\nIn previous years I have had one cubby cabinet and the two groups shared the space to store their materials. However, this resulted in quite a bit of lost pater work or ripped notebooks and frustration from my students. This year, with your gracious donation, I was able to purchase a second cabinet. Now I have a cubby for every student and each student is responcible to sorting, organizing and cleaning their space. Students learned about the electoral college as well as how candidates are selected to run. I think their favorite part was logging all of the state electoral votes after the election and then learning about the inauguration. \r\nWe incorporated many group activities into our lessons as well. They had so much fun acting things out that they learned from the books as well as sharing with their families at home. \r\nI know that their learning will help them when they become voters in the future.
