Our students last year and this year have painted their garden pet rocks. It was a great way to show them that we are a family. It was one of their favorite art projects of the school year. They kept asking when would they be able to take it home. After many months having their pet rock be part of our classroom, they were able to take it home. It also taught them patience. It was amazing to see how they were able to remember the exact one they painted, even though they had their names on the back of the rock. I also placed the rock near our door and next to a picture of my past pet.
