Because of you, my third-grade students at Peabody Charter School in Santa Barbara now have access to six wobble stools that are already making a powerful impact in our classroom. Your kindness has directly supported my students' ability to focus, stay engaged, and feel comfortable while learning, and I am truly grateful.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the wobble stools, my students and I have been using them daily during small-group instruction, especially during our reading intervention and rotation groups. These stools have become an essential part of our literacy block. During guided reading and phonics lessons, students sit on the wobble stools while working through challenging texts, practicing decoding skills, and engaging in meaningful discussions with their peers. One specific moment that stands out happened during a small-group reading lesson where a few students typically struggle to remain focused.\r\n\r\n While seated on the wobble stools, they were able to move gently while still keeping their eyes on the text and actively participating in the discussion. I noticed increased stamina, improved attention, and more thoughtful responses from students who often find sitting still difficult. The wobble stools have allowed them to meet their sensory needs without disrupting their learning or the learning of others.\r\n\r\nWhen the wobble stools first arrived, my students were beyond excited. Their faces lit up as soon as they saw them, and they immediately asked thoughtful questions about how and when they would get to use them. We took time to talk about expectations and how the stools are tools to help support learning, focus, and self-regulation. The students were eager to try them out and took pride in using them responsibly. Many students shared that they felt more comfortable and that the stools helped them \"get their wiggles out\" while still listening and learning. It was heartwarming to see students feel empowered by having a seating option that supports their individual needs.\r\n\r\nYour generosity gave you a small peek into \r\nour classroom, and I would love to share what comes next for my students. Currently, we are diving deeper into reading comprehension strategies, including identifying main ideas, making inferences, and supporting answers with evidence from the text. As we move forward with these lessons, the wobble stools will continue to play a key role in helping students stay engaged during small-group discussions and independent reading tasks. We are also beginning a narrative writing unit, where students will plan, draft, and revise personal stories. Having flexible seating options like the wobble stools allows students to remain focused during longer writing sessions, helping them build confidence and endurance as writers.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the wobble stools have also supported social-emotional learning in our classroom. Students are learning to recognize what helps them focus best and advocate for their needs in a respectful way. This sense of ownership and self-awareness is invaluable and will benefit them far beyond third grade.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their success. Your support has made our classroom a more inclusive, engaging, and joyful place to learn. The impact of your generosity will be felt every day as my students grow as readers, writers, and learners","fullyFundedDate":1762361527476,"projectUrl":"project/wobble-sit-and-learn-over-at-the-readi/9809997/","projectTitle":"Wobble, Sit, and Learn Over at the Reading Center!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wheeler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10306178_orig.jpg?crop=1889,1889,x215,y7&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760027207428","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10306178"},{"teacherId":1862941,"projectId":9897650,"letterContent":"Wow - the immediate engagement with the new lego animals has been fantastic!
