Your support has truly made a meaningful difference in our learning experience. The combination of engaging articles, interactive online activities, and hands-on reading materials allowed us to explore new topics in exciting and meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nWe used the magazines for whole group lessons, small team projects, and independent learning on Chromebooks. The students especially loved reading about zoo animals and celebrating St. Patrick's Day through the fun, themed content. We discussed who we would like to give it to, with the thought of Mother's Day coming up, as not all students have a mother in their lives, it was a thoughtful discussion.\r\n\r\nThe students loved digging their hands into the soil, transferring it into their decorated pots, and putting in the seeds. They were so careful to make sure each seed was placed carefully. The students loved watering their plants and even talking to them to get them to grow.\r\n\r\nA group of boys asked if they could read to their plants! That was a twist I hadn't expected, but of course I told them yes! It was adorable to see them holding their pots of soil, as the seeds hadn't sprouted just yet, and reading the new books about plants. I overheard one boy tell his pot that it was going to grow as big as the picture in the book!\r\n\r\nThank you very much for helping the class have this hands-on experience. The fact that my students were excited is an understatement! They were so excited to just receive the box of books, just the box!\r\n\r\nOnce we began to open the different packages, their excitement grew and grew. They have been devouring the books. Each day, a student comes to share that they finished their book and are ready to get another one. This is exactly what a teacher wants to hear! We work so hard to teach the students how to read, but once they have the basics down, they need a lot of practice. I hope that I can create a classroom of students who want to read and enjoy reading. \r\n\r\nWe have two designated times for reading in our classroom. One is \"Moonlight Monday\" and \"Flashlight Friday,\" and these times are sacred.
