Your generosity has already made a huge impact on our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThere were gasps and squeals when I pulled the Magna-Tiles out of the boxes. They have been using the Magna-Tiles to build all sorts of structures. We have been learning about space exploration in the past, present, and future. Their imaginations have led them to create all sorts of space ships and docking stations. In their eagerness and excitement, they still shared the Magna-Tiles and invited each other to build together. It's beautiful to see them grow in their awareness and attunement to other's feelings.\r\n\r\nThe watercolors have also sparked so much creativity. They were excited to experiment with mixed medium art. We used white crayons as the base of an art project, then watercolored over them. The students were wowed by how the 'invisible ink' was revealed after they painted over it. \r\n\r\nThe books especially created an emotional connection for many students. In math, we were learning about 2D and 3D shapes. I was thrilled to have, \"Round is a Tortilla\" to read to them. There were huge smiles and joy radiating on their faces when they realized there were words in Spanish. Seeing students feel represented and connected through literature is incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhenever I bring new items to the classroom and tell the students we received from the generosity of people in the community, their faces light up and their understanding of the world as a place were kindness and generosity exists deepens. Thank you for giving them more than materials. \r\n\r\nI have no doubt that the Magna-Tiles, puzzles, art supplies, and books will continue to foster an environment of inclusion and collaboration. I am so excited to share how these resources are already supporting my students. The fidget tools have helped many of my students be able to focus during lessons. During small and whole-group lessons, I've seen students use their fidget to stay engaged. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate and contagious. They were especially thrilled with the sidewalk chalk and play-doh tools, both quickly became favorites. With the chalk, students worked together to create outlines of each other, noticing how the shadows impact their ability to trace each other, which is something we are learning in science. It's neat how you might have one thing in mind for a lesson or tool, and sometimes it takes on a life of its own once students get involved. They were practicing red words and inventing their own math games on the blacktop. It's wonderful to see their creativity and collaboration flourish.\r\n\r\nInside and outside the classroom, we are practicing self-regulation strategies. In addition to providing materials and supplies, your support has helped create an environment where students have additional tools to help them self-regulate. Because of you, our students are using resources that support their academic learning and social-emotional development.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using the headphones during math, phonics, and science. Students are able to stay focused and work at their own pace without distractions. One special moment that stands out was watching students get to engage with science in a new self-paced way. Their facial expressions as they moved through the lesson were a joy to watch. The self-guided lessons give students agency and a sense of ownership over their learning. Students are doing this while I pull small reading groups to support my students who are working to be at grade level. \r\n\r\nWhen the play dough and puzzles were introduced, the excitement was immediate. Students' eyes lit up, and they couldn't wait to get started. The play dough has become an important part of our social-emotional learning time, helping students express feelings, practice calming strategies, and build fine motor skills. The puzzles have been a favorite during our morning transition time. Students work together and celebrate together when they complete a puzzle. Seeing how they include each other has made me proud. It has been wonderful to see friendships strengthen as students problem-solve side by side.\r\n\r\nWe hope you know how deeply grateful we are.
