Students have choice reading, and our goal is to spark the joy of reading in all of our students by allowing them to read anything they want. One of the biggest challenges we face is helping students find the book that helps them fall in love with reading. All of our classrooms have a mini library with many books to offer, but my classroom doesn't get budget to buy books since I don't host a homeroom. However, over 300 students enter my classroom every week, so my goal was to have a bookshelf with high-interest books that any student can borrow. So far, it's been amazing to see how excited students get when they see that I have the Jenny Han collection, One Piece, Goosebumps, Harry Potter and other high interest books.\r\n\r\nFinding the book that sparks the reading fire is so important to what we do as literacy educators. Thanks to all the donors, I now have a larger selection of high interest books in my classroom to offer students of all grades and reading abilities at my school. Whether it's a manga or bestselling romance series, students are able to find something to get them going. I've already had students come back to me asking for the next book in a series, which is a dream situation for students needing more reading volume to grow their reading level. \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our literacy program at my school.","fullyFundedDate":1746787367219,"projectUrl":"project/read-baby-read/9243820/","projectTitle":"Read, Baby Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Kandah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2514342_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1543593552551","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kandah"},{"teacherId":572720,"projectId":9257380,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my classroom through DonorsChoose. The computer you helped fund is already making a meaningful difference in the way I support my students. As an English teacher who relies heavily on data collection, writing instruction, and individualized feedback, this technology has become an essential tool. It allows me to analyze student progress more efficiently, provide timely and detailed feedback on their writing, and quickly adjust instruction based on student needs. These are all critical components in helping my students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects for students is how much more immediate and interactive their learning has become. They can now access writing rubrics, revise drafts, and receive feedback in real time. They feel empowered by being part of the process by tracking their progress, setting goals, and seeing the results of their hard work. This year, 91% of my students earned a 3 or 4 on the English SBAC test, far exceeding the state average of 47%. That success reflects not only their dedication but also the powerful role that timely feedback and personalized instruction—made possible by this computer—has played.\r\n\r\nI've seen especially strong engagement from students who often struggle with confidence in their writing. One student, in particular, used to avoid revising their work altogether, but with the ability to get quick, meaningful feedback, they've started to embrace the editing process. They now actively seek out help and are proud of their growth. Moments like these remind me that this project isn't just about technology, it's about opening doors for students who are ready to learn when they have the right tools. Thank you for helping me give them those tools.","fullyFundedDate":1746787425206,"projectUrl":"project/from-prep-to-presentation-a-macbook-for/9257380/","projectTitle":"From Prep to Presentation: a MacBook for Meaningful Lessons","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Merlos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp572720_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1515348565498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/572720"},{"teacherId":572720,"projectId":8750002,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous contribution to my classroom project.
