I am using many of the strategies I learned in our short but packed one week course - \"bat before the ball\" to help kids remember the line for the lowercase b comes before the rounded part (to help aide in identifying the difference between b + d), teaching open and closed syllables, informing parents why letter formation + handwriting is so important at this early age, and of course magic highlighters that switch colors when kids write with the opposite side so that they practice writing and spelling twice!\r\n\r\nThank you again - I am eternally grateful to have had this experience and opportunity to improve my teaching practice (as well as share this info with colleagues and families).
