Many of them had only seen chess timers used in competitive matches online, so having the opportunity to practice with professional tools made them feel like they were stepping into a higher level of play.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was during our first timed tournament in the classroom. Students who normally played cautiously found themselves thinking more strategically and managing their time wisely. The digital clocks pushed them to sharpen both their focus and their decision-making, and the room was filled with energy as they competed and supported each other. The new sets also allowed us to expand participation. Students were literally waiting on the sidelines, waiting to jump right in, which has made our club more inclusive and welcoming.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to organize a school-wide chess tournament where students can showcase the skills they've been developing. The fact that the engine really works like an engine makes it extra engaging.\r\n\r\nFor some of the juniors who frequent the school library, this Lego set inspires and challenges them.
