We received the headphones yesterday and started to use them right away. My students were so excited when they saw the box being delivered to our classroom and they all screamed \"YAY! Now we can each have one!\" We had a little lesson on how to take care of the headphones so hopefully they can last and now all students are able to access these headphones when they are doing their digital activities in class.\r\nI want to share that ever since the pandemic when we had to do distance learning schools are adapting and resourcing more and more to the use of technology. In my own classroom, the little 5/6 year olds are expected to do lessons, assessments and projects online. While expecting the teachers and students to move along with the increase of technology; the district does not support us with the resources. Thank you for supplying us a whole class set. It's all thanks to your incredible generosity and support.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, we're heading into the school year fully stocked with the tools we need to succeed. Your donation has allowed us to replenish the basic supplies: like pencils, erasers, and organizational materials that keep our classroom running smoothly every single day. These small but essential items make a big difference in helping students stay focused, prepared, and confident in their learning.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, we've also replaced some of our most relied-on classroom tools. Our new easel is already serving as a central hub for literacy instruction, morning meetings, and collaborative work. The upgraded heavy-duty pencil sharpener is a quiet hero—keeping supplies ready so students can stay in the flow of their learning without interruption.\r\n\r\nYour support has also brought a fresh wave of creative energy to our classroom. New writing and art materials are giving students the chance to express themselves in new ways. The pride on their faces when they create something with quality materials is priceless.\r\n\r\nFinally, your help in providing a new air purifier filter means we can continue to prioritize student health and comfort. Clean air may not be something we see, but it deeply affects how we feel and function throughout the day. Knowing our classroom air is fresh gives both students and families one less thing to worry about.\r\n\r\nEvery item you've helped provide is already making a visible impact. More than just supplies, your donation has brought joy, ease, and a stronger sense of readiness to our classroom community. You've set the tone for a successful year, and we truly couldn't have done this without you.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us—thank you for believing in our classroom and for investing in our students' learning, creativity, and well being.","fullyFundedDate":1754683565966,"projectUrl":"project/stock-the-shelves-spark-the-minds/9431100/","projectTitle":"Stock the Shelves, Spark the Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Truong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4063730_orig.jpg?crop=1169,1169,x0,y97&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634015764303","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/tracytruong"},{"teacherId":2958520,"projectId":9498944,"letterContent":"We're 50+ days into school and have used the majority of the read alouds that were donated to us. These themes are important for my beginning of year stories, as we refer back to these ideas all year long. My go-to series has been the \"7 Habits of Happy Kids\" and the extension books that you have provided, gives my second and third grade students an opportunity to see how the same characters apply these lessons in their lives. Last week, the class was playing an outdoor game called \"Ro Sham Bo Relay\", and they were referring back to the importance of synthesis and teamwork, lessons learned from the 7 Habits!\r\n\r\nSeveral other titles, such as the \"Magic of Yet\" & the \"Magical Choices\" have helped my second graders learn that they are indeed in control, especially when the academics are increasingly harder. The \"Not So Friendly Friend\" has helped my third graders practice healthy boundaries with their friends. \r\n\r\nThe challenge of teaching a combination class feels less daunting when I know that the students have strong relationships and life skills.","fullyFundedDate":1754060553744,"projectUrl":"project/read-alouds-for-back-to-school/9498944/","projectTitle":"Read Alouds for Back-to-School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Yu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2958520_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753842175704","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2958520"},{"teacherId":2958520,"projectId":9499000,"letterContent":"Reading is the most important task for young students. It is the gateway to all other subjects. During our daily class DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) in lower graders, or better known as SSR (Sustained Silent Reading), students have up to 30 minutes of independent reading time for pleasure. For second language learners, it helps build vocabulary. For the more advanced readers, it helps with acquisition of non fiction knowledge. For the reluctant readers, it provides time to choose their own reading material, and sit with a buddy who can read and discuss the book with them. \r\n\r\nEach day, the third graders in my class are excited to read their new books, such as \"Who Would Win\" and the \"Bad Guys\". They are also taking good care of their new series, keeping the volumes in good shape and sequenced at the end of each day. As for my second graders, they are eagerly awaiting their turn to access the third graders' reading materials next school year. \r\n\r\nThe spark of reading is alive and strong, a win-win for the entire class. These tools have already made a tremendous difference in the way I'm able to engage my students in both math and literacy. The document camera allows me to model problem-solving strategies, read texts together, and share student work in real time, which has led to more interactive and meaningful lessons. The students love seeing their work projected and participating in class discussions with visual support, and it's made learning more accessible and fun for everyone.\r\n\r\nThe printer has also become an essential part of our daily instruction. I've been able to create and distribute personalized worksheets and differentiated assignments tailored to individual learning needs.
