This is how your calculator donation is being used in each grade:\r\n - 8th grade is learning about irrational numbers, which can be really difficult to work with by hand. Calculators have been a relief for them! They've been able to find the square roots of non-perfect squares and use the more precise version of pi. Soon they'll be working with perfect cubes and squares and scientific notation, and calculators will still be incredibly useful then.\r\n- 7th grade is adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing negative numbers. While they are proficient with smaller numbers, calculators will help with larger numbers. This will help them focus on how to work with a very new concept.\r\n- 6th grade is adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals and fractions. Calculators are helping them double-check their work and fix any errors they might have made in the process.\r\nWe also have a few posters around the room with equations at the high school level. Quite a few students have asked how to get those into their calculators so they can solve them. They're getting a head start on geometry, trigonometry, and calculus!\r\nThank you so much for your donation. We are seeing a lot of great math already and I am excited to help my students reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1746785247693,"projectUrl":"project/crunching-numbers-building-futures/9317770/","projectTitle":"Crunching Numbers, Building Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kristen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4749983"},{"teacherId":9779373,"projectId":8826093,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations to our classroom.
