Sometimes it can be a challenge to keep everyone engaged, excited about reading, and trying new titles as we near summer break, but thanks to your generous donations, we have the Dragon Masters series to dive into! \r\n This series is a hot commodity in our class, and a favorite pick for independent reading and free reading time. I have even noticed my students checking out certain titles from the library while they wait for that particular one to become available in class! \r\n Most of all, thank you for fueling their confidence in themselves as readers. These books can help spark a love for reading in young students, offering them new worlds to explore and characters to connect with. For first graders, it's essential that books be colorful, interactive, and written at an appropriate reading level to encourage their literacy skills.\r\n\r\n These new collections will provide a variety of themes, from fun adventures to educational stories, making learning enjoyable. Books that focus on phonics, simple sentence structures, and vibrant illustrations are perfect for building their reading confidence. They will also help students develop essential skills like comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. In addition, books with diverse characters and experiences can inspire empathy and understanding.\r\n\r\n With these new books, you're helping to create a classroom environment that values the joy of reading while laying the foundation for future learning. Here's to a library full of exciting stories and eager young readers! Having special and high-quality materials has elevated the writing unit that we completed, and made it much more special! There was a buzz of excitement during the writing workshop because our books looked and felt real and were worthy of top-notch writing!\r\n We used the hardbound books to make fictional holiday stories for our families. The class worked very hard editing, illustrating, and completing these creative stories.
