It provides students with a designated space to reset, refocus, and engage more deeply with their reading and writing. Many students choose to go there during independent work time, and they enjoy using the beanbags while reading or completing assignments. The comfortable seating has helped some of my more reluctant readers and writers feel more at ease, which has led to increased participation and stronger stamina during independent work.\r\n\r\nThe beanbags have also become a powerful incentive system in my classroom. I use time in the reading/calming corner as a reward for meeting behavior, academic, or personal goals, and students are highly motivated to earn that privilege. This has contributed to better on-task behavior, smoother transitions, and an overall calmer classroom environment. The corner has transformed from just a cozy spot into an important tool for supporting self-regulation, motivation, and a positive ELA learning culture.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for providing my students with not just a comfortable place in their classroom but a safe space where they can go when they need to regulate their emotions.","fullyFundedDate":1759677063511,"projectUrl":"project/calming-corner/9788399/","projectTitle":"Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3155188_orig.png?crop=1284,1284,x0,y552&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728944389459","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3155188"},{"teacherId":8707151,"projectId":9232962,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for bringing my ELA Support class project to life! With your help, our literature circles will become spaces where students see themselves reflected in what they read and learn to connect deeply with stories that matter.\r\n\r\nIn one semester, your gift will help my readers grow in confidence, skill, and self-awareness. Students and our school in general are very grateful for the contributions of the 3 cameras to our school. And students are well aware that without your help, none of this would happen. \r\n\r\nPlease know that we are grateful beyond this letter for even considering donating to our school.
