It was like unwrapping a gift that opened the door to more engaging and meaningful PE experiences. The new resources have completely transformed how we structure our Unified PE classes—allowing us to run multiple skill-based rotations simultaneously. This means we can now better focus on developing foundational gross motor skills, which are crucial for building lifelong healthy movement habits. The added structure and variety have also allowed for more inclusive opportunities where students and their general education peers can learn, play, and grow together.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful changes has been the sense of ownership the students have developed. They take pride in setting up and putting away the equipment themselves, often working together as a team. It's fostering a greater sense of independence, responsibility, and community. Looking ahead, we're excited to integrate this equipment into the Special Olympics PE curriculum as we prepare for the Unified Games in the spring. These next steps will not only build on the physical skills we've been practicing but also continue to strengthen teamwork, confidence, and inclusion.","fullyFundedDate":1742954103009,"projectUrl":"project/equipment-for-unified-pe/9167152/","projectTitle":"Equipment for Unified PE","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Krystal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9554931_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742865758351","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9554931"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91257","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":209,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":38,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.8,"schoolId":91257,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Montevideo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Montevideo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/saddleback-valley-unified-school-district/montevideo-elementary-school/91257"}
