Your generous donations helped create a welcoming, colorful, and safe environment for me to welcome my students to their new Spanish course. The welcome sign provided one of the first words my Spanish 1 students learned in the target language. The social emotional posters with words of affirmation (in the target language) are daily reminders for my AP Spanish students that they are valued, capable, and that they can do hard things. The welcome mat sets the stage for students to use the target language the minute they enter class.\r\n\r\nA favorite of the many donations has been the standing desk. Students use it anytime they present projects to their classmates. Student's have shared that standing behind it makes them feel professional and important.\r\n\r\nYour generous gifts have sprinkled our classroom with joy.","fullyFundedDate":1757091476411,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-school/9463851/","projectTitle":"Back to School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herrera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10079913_orig.png?crop=233,233,x31,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753740981225","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10079913"},{"teacherId":8056233,"projectId":8732603,"letterContent":"I am sorry for doing this late but I am very happy with my Apple TV from Donor's Choice. I use it with my Algebra 1 class and my Science classes too (Biology & Chemistry). As a SPED teacher, my classes need the extra support. Anyway I can get the information to them and in as many different ways I can, the better chances they will understand.\r\n\r\nAs I get better using this product in my classroom, I now have students able to log on and do demonstrations and share their work with the class. I was even able to get another large TV added to my room so I can share my display so others can see it further away from the front of the room.\r\n\r\nDonor's Choice has been good to me and I appreciate all of the donor's who have helped along the way. I will definitely use this again especially since money is getting tighter and tighter with declining enrollment.","fullyFundedDate":1731771325960,"projectUrl":"project/appletv-and-science/8732603/","projectTitle":"AppleTV and Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gaughran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8056233_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657636543338","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8056233"},{"teacherId":275336,"projectId":8939276,"letterContent":"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of my donors for the support and generosity in helping me with my project. I was able to purchase the dry erase markers for myself and my students to use in our math class. My student population is made up of students with learning disabilities and math is incredibly difficult for them. Every day, I ask students on to solve multi step equations which is a difficult process for them. The students sit at tables that are made up of dry erase board material which is perfect for students to use dry erase markers. Each student is given a dry erase marker to work through the steps on the tables so I can help them through the process. This has allowed the students to see the process and mistakes in real time.\r\n When I first received the dry erase markers, my students expressed their appreciation by thanking me for writing this project to Donors Choose. They immediately asked me for a dry erase marker so they can use them to solve the problems on the tables. The best thing about these markers is that when the ink runs out, I just change the ink cartridge on the marker which prolongs the life of the markers.\r\n Math is a very difficult subject for students with learning disabilities because math builds on prior knowledge. Many of my students have struggled with math for their entire lives and do not have the confidence in their abilities. My goal is to slowly build their confidence through success. These markers allow for that and I wanted to express my gratitude to all of my donors.","fullyFundedDate":1732128516871,"projectUrl":"project/marker-madness/8939276/","projectTitle":"Marker Madness","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sherman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp275336_orig.jpg?crop=1224,1224,x0,y204&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1558546466069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/275336"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91261","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1972,"numTeachers":101,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.3,"schoolId":91261,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about El Toro High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"El Toro High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/saddleback-valley-unified-school-district/el-toro-high-school/91261"}
