Having access to a variety of new and engaging books will give them opportunities to discover stories, characters, and topics that spark their curiosity and make reading feel exciting and meaningful. Their excitement when choosing a new book is already helping create a classroom culture where reading is something to look forward to.\r\n\r\nThese books also introduce my students to different genres, perspectives, and interests. Some students are discovering genres they have never explored before, while others are finding books that match their favorite topics and reading levels. By providing a wider selection, I hope to encourage my students to try something new, build confidence as readers, and develop a lifelong love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1788120533074,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-2nd-graders-fall-in-love-with-re/10535832/","projectTitle":"Help My 2nd Graders Fall in Love with Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sawyer-Barrett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8040758_orig.png?crop=363,363,x410,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646501783856","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8040758"},{"teacherId":6412063,"projectId":10275028,"letterContent":"Your generous support has made a meaningful impact on the way my first graders learn, practice, and grow each day. The hands-on literacy and math materials have transformed important foundational skills into engaging, interactive experiences that make learning feel exciting and achievable.\r\n\r\nMy students are using phonics activities, decodable readers, math manipulatives, dry erase tools, and learning games to practice reading, writing, counting, problem-solving, and number sense. Instead of simply completing a worksheet, they are touching, moving, talking, building, and exploring as they learn. These materials give them opportunities to practice skills repeatedly while building confidence along the way.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your donations are helping my students see themselves as capable learners.
