When my students first saw the new materials, their eyes lit up with excitement. They immediately gravitated toward the magnetic tiles, working together to build imaginative structures and practicing essential STEM skills through play. The new rug has transformed our classroom environment—it's become a cozy and structured gathering space that has greatly improved classroom management and student engagement. We now begin each day with a focused morning meeting, and the rug helps us transition smoothly between lessons. The math manipulatives have made a huge difference in our hands-on learning, especially during small group instruction, where students can physically explore math concepts like counting, sorting, and pattern-making.\r\n\r\nOne specific project we recently completed involved building number towers with the magnetic tiles and manipulatives, where students had to match quantities with numerals. They were so proud to present their creations and explain their thinking to their classmates! Our next step is to integrate these materials into more cross-curricular projects, like combining storytelling and math through building scenes from books we read. As a first-year teacher, I'm incredibly grateful for the support. Your kindness made a lasting impact in my classroom. My students are more engaged, more confident, and truly excited to learn every day. Thank you so much for investing in our classroom, and I hope you'll continue to follow our journey and support future projects!","fullyFundedDate":1739368342783,"projectUrl":"project/kinder-rockstars/9059719/","projectTitle":"Kinder Rockstars!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rolon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9894299"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30888","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":514,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"28.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.4,"schoolId":30888,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highland Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/redlands-unified-school-district/highland-grove-elementary-school/30888"}
