As someone who has worked in the field for many years, I can testify that having access to a printer is extremely helpful for students and teachers. Not only does this tool help students better visualize their ideas, but it engages them more. I find that students are more excited to complete work that expresses their artistry. And for those students who enjoy art as much, it allowed them to print images that support their ideas without drawing and coloring them by hand. As a teacher, it is also beneficial as it allows me to provide last-minute guides and worksheets to help struggling students. By having access to a color printer, I am also able to color coordinate information which helps students better understand their topics. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher in a low-income community, many of my students lack access to a printer. Unfortunately, our school has also rejected propositions to purchase class printers as they don't see it as a \"necessity\" now with online learning. However, I can testify that paper and printers are still essential to student learning. I've enjoyed being able to help students who don't have access to printers. Just today, I had a student ask me to print their resume. So not only is the printer helpful in creating fun projects, like the focus of this fundraiser, but it has also helped them in many other aspects.","fullyFundedDate":1726689524070,"projectUrl":"project/poster-project/8517951/","projectTitle":"Poster Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Duran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9606680_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762205448133","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9606680"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84449","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1604,"numTeachers":71,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":93,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.9,"schoolId":84449,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Garey High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Garey High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/pomona-unified-school-district/garey-high-school/84449"}
