The new community helper puppets, play people, play families, and dolls will allow students to see themselves and others reflected in their play—an essential part of building belonging and confidence in our youngest learners. Through storytelling, role play, and shared adventures, children will explore ideas of friendship, community, and cooperation in a way that feels natural and joyful.\r\n\r\nYour support helps create a classroom where every child feels safe, seen, and celebrated. These materials will transform our dramatic play and block centers into spaces that nurture kindness, problem-solving, and understanding of the world around us. Every time a child reaches for a puppet or doll, they'll be building social skills, language, and empathy—skills that extend far beyond the classroom walls.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a place where students can dream big, care deeply, and learn through play. My students have also really enjoyed the sensory stickers as it gives their hands a place to focus, again so their brains can stay engaged. As they stick, students always know where they are and cannot easily lose them. \r\n\r\nWe will be continuing to utilize these materials as we are working on building a growth mindset and working on focusing on our own bodies and how to help them work in a way that allows us to focus and learn.","fullyFundedDate":1734385326808,"projectUrl":"project/lets-bring-on-the-calm/9005751/","projectTitle":"Let's Bring on the Calm","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp607135_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472619943880","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsevansc7"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4043","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":644,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":5,"percentAsian":61,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":86.0,"schoolId":4043,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Walnut Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Walnut Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/pleasanton-unified-school-district/walnut-grove-elementary-school/4043"}
