Thanks to your support, our students received seeds, tools, seed starters, and even a mini greenhouse to begin their hands-on gardening journey.\r\n\r\nThe students have already shared how much fun it was to play with the dirt and seeds. They were especially excited to try out the different types of gardening shovels, which quickly became a favorite part of the activity. Beyond the fun, our students are eager to learn about the growing process—from planting a seed to watching it sprout and flourish.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided more than just supplies; you have given our students an opportunity to explore science, responsibility, and the joy of growing something themselves. Our unique school is able to pull different grade levels and work at their level. Before we were sitting on the ground, or crowding around a table to small for us. The PCS Edventures BrickLAB STEM Foundations Set has been instrumental in helping our third/fourth grade teacher enhance her history lesson about the Statue of Liberty into a STEM engineering lesson on cantilevering. Just how did the creators of the Statue of Liberty make it possible for the statue's arm and torch to stay supported when they are not directly above the rest of the statue? That was the essential question that began the lesson. \r\n\r\nThe students demonstrated how the cantilevering had been done using LEGO blocks and their planning. This cooperative lesson required the students to plan together and build together. It also required cooperation skills, planning skills, communication skills, engineering skills, risk-taking, and the ability to summarize the learning. It was completely engaging, making learning fun and interactive. Thank you! Our students LOVE the new novels and are so excited to read them. We read in small groups with students of similar reading ranges and comprehension levels. This makes for mixed grades reading groups. Rumors spread fast around the school when a group starts a new book. Especially, when the students are hooked right from the beginning. The new books have them hooked. The students get into deep conversations when discussing characters and comparing books.\r\nI love the organization I get from the book bins. I can fit twice as many books in the cupboard and they stay in great condition and are easy to label and keep organized. I wish I would have found the bins years ago. I can even send students to find a certain book and they can locate it quickly. The books are loved and cared for. WIN, WIN!
