Because of your generosity, my students now begin each morning with hands-on activities that set the tone for an engaging and connected school day.\r\n\r\nEvery morning, my students walk into the classroom and go straight to their STEM bins. This simple but powerful routine has completely transformed the way we start our day. Instead of rushing in or feeling anxious, students ease into learning by building, designing, and creating. The bins give them the perfect opportunity to transition calmly while engaging their minds and hands.\r\n\r\nWhat has amazed me the most is how these STEM bins have impacted friendships and classroom community. I have students who, in the past, struggled to connect with their peers, but through these activities, they've been able to form friendships more quickly. Working together on building challenges or simply sharing ideas has created natural opportunities for collaboration, encouragement, and teamwork. The sense of belonging that has grown from these shared experiences has been powerful.\r\n\r\nSTEM bins have also given every student the chance to thrive, no matter their academic level or background. Students who might not feel as confident in traditional subjects are finding success through creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. I've been truly amazed at the unique and inventive things my students have built—structures, designs, and creations I never would have imagined myself! These moments have sparked pride, confidence, and joy that carry into the rest of our school day.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided my class with more than just materials; you've given them daily opportunities to be successful, to express creativity, and to grow socially and academically. Thank you for helping create a classroom environment where every child feels capable, inspired, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1747065623081,"projectUrl":"project/building-brains-and-creativity-stem-bin/9330359/","projectTitle":"Building Brains and Creativity: STEM Bins for Every Day!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Burgess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10013599_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748737218976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10013599"},{"teacherId":10013599,"projectId":9319330,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom library project! Because of your generosity, my 30 second graders now have access to a wide variety of inclusive chapter and picture books that have completely changed the way we experience reading together.\r\n\r\nEvery day, we set aside time for reading, and it has quickly become the most anticipated part of our day. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and do not always have access to books at home, and several are English Language Development (ELD) learners at varying academic levels. This new collection ensures that every student—no matter their background, language, or reading ability—can find stories that feel both accessible and meaningful.\r\n\r\nI've heard from parents who said their children used to hate reading, but now they come home talking about our reading time and can't wait to share what they're discovering in their books. In class, I've seen reluctant readers transform into eager ones, excitedly choosing new books and begging for \"just one more chapter.\" During read-alouds, we've explored stories that celebrate identity, kindness, and empathy—helping to create a welcoming classroom community where all students feel represented and valued.\r\n\r\nYour donation hasn't just filled our shelves; it has sparked joy, curiosity, and confidence in my students. You've helped build a culture where reading is not only a skill but a beloved part of their day, and for many, that is a first-time experience.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the gift of loving books. The impact you've made on their growth as readers and as people is immeasurable.","fullyFundedDate":1746786091477,"projectUrl":"project/building-an-inclusive-library-for-growin/9319330/","projectTitle":"Building an Inclusive Library for Growing Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Burgess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10013599_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748737218976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10013599"},{"teacherId":3620634,"projectId":8559711,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity! My students were thrilled to walk in and discover the unique tools available to them. Their excitement was palpable as they eagerly explored these hands-on activities, which helped them connect with our learning targets in a more meaningful way.\r\nOne memorable moment was during a recent project where the students took on the role of detectives. They practiced their inferencing and reasoning skills as they worked collaboratively to solve a mystery.
