Your donation has made a real difference in my Psychology classes and Club ECHO meetings. These items have created a more welcoming and focused environment. Students feel more energized during lessons, especially when working on projects or preparing for exams. In Club ECHO, the snack station has helped foster a stronger sense of community and comfort during meetings and discussions.\r\n\r\nIn Psychology, we've been exploring topics like motivation, stress, and brain function and what better way to support that learning than by offering brain-boosting snacks during exams, group discussions, and project work. Students are focused and engaged during our most rigorous lessons. The snack station has also sparked real conversations about mental health, self-care, and the science of nutrition and learning making it both a practical and educational addition to our classroom. In Club ECHO, which focuses on leadership, equity, and community-building, the snacks have provided more than just fuel—they've created a sense of togetherness. Whether we're planning service projects, hosting peer discussions, or debriefing after events, the ability to gather around a snack or share fresh popcorn has deepened our connections and helped build a more inclusive and empowering space.\r\n\r\nYour support goes beyond food, it's helped build a space where students feel seen, supported, and ready to learn. These resources have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. The moment students saw the newly stocked and organized hygiene station, their reactions were full of surprise and relief. It was a small but powerful moment that reminded me why this project matters so much.\r\n\r\nSince setting up the space, students have been able to access what they need discreetly and without stress. It has created a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment where they can focus on learning, not worry or embarrassment. We're not just providing products; we're showing students that their needs are seen and respected. I even have students stop by that are not enrolled in my classes because they've heard from their friends that these items are accessible to them.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're working on a health and wellness unit where students are exploring topics like self-care, personal hygiene, and mental health. Having these products readily available ties directly into those conversations, reinforcing that caring for oneself is a vital part of success; both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the dignity, comfort, and confidence they deserve. Students actively participated in a series of interactive activities. This included a historical simulation and an escape room gamified assignments which were intentionally designed to deepen their understanding of key events and concepts. The level of engagement was phenomenal; and made possible with your generosity in contributing to access to these materials.\r\n\r\nStudents were actively collaborating, problem-solving, and thinking critically throughout each activity. When the new materials arrived, especially the wigs, globe, and other hands-on resources, students were ecstatic. These items brought history to life in our classroom, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to explore historical perspectives in creative ways. The next steps include student-led presentations and reflective projects that allow them to demonstrate their learning and connect historical themes to present day. \r\n\r\nThank you for providing us with lots of support, our classroom has become an exciting space where students are not only learning history. Students have even stated they want additional opportunities to use the wigs to enhance what we are learning. Thank you again and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to bring history alive in the classroom and get a group of students to become passionate about learning history.","fullyFundedDate":1741368766192,"projectUrl":"project/globe-trotting-through-history-engaging/8991053/","projectTitle":"Globe-Trotting Through History: Engaging Projects for Young Explorers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Magaña","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7782679_orig.png?crop=1046,1046,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634182190827","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7782679"},{"teacherId":7782679,"projectId":8837458,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students, I am expressing our gratitude for donating for us to have access to snacks to study. It was a really exciting day when we received the donations. I was able to capture students' excitement when they were unboxing the snacks. They were giddy because this is the first time they were seeing something they really wanted arrive so quickly and be snacks that they truly enjoy eating. Upon seeing how many snacks were donated they were immediately excited to see the variation and express their excitement. For instance, the Variety Sampler Care Package which has many different snacks seemed to gravitate their attention, especially because it looked like a fancy present. \r\n\r\nIt has been an absolute pleasure to have donors like you that have facilitated my students with access to snacks in the classroom especially when studying for major projects, exams as an essential component of motivating them to grow into the leaders I know they will become. This donation presented itself for students and I to have a meaningful conversation on the many forms in which we can uplift one another without poking fun at someone whose stomach is grumbling. It has led to a great sense of community where students naturally share when they have an extra snack in our designated basket or directly with their peers. With access to these snacks in the classroom students seem more engaged in the assignments. \r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of our students!","fullyFundedDate":1732485673756,"projectUrl":"project/smore-snacks-to-study/8837458/","projectTitle":"S'more Snacks to Study","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Magaña","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7782679_orig.png?crop=1046,1046,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634182190827","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7782679"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40077","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2253,"numTeachers":78,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":96,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"28.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.6,"schoolId":40077,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Watsonville High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Watsonville High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/pajaro-valley-unified-school-district/watsonville-high-school/40077"}
