Because of your support, my students have been able to explore entrepreneurship in a way that gives them both independence and joy. These experiences have become meaningful opportunities for them to learn responsibility and teamwork as they open and run their own \"store.\"\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is seeing the confidence and pride my students are developing as they are recognized and \"seen\" around campus. They love interacting with their peers in general education, especially when other students greet them by name and connect with them outside of the classroom. You have so many deserving classrooms out there and you chose ours, what an honor! \r\nThis thank you is a long time coming and that is due to the fact that it took a very long time for my new printer to be approved by the district and then finally get it hooked up and working, so I apologize for the long delay. \r\nThis printer has been so amazing. I am finally able to make fun and engaging activities for my students in bright colors which is so helpful to my 2 students with visual impairments. I have also been able to print colorful communication icons that are so helpful in and out of the classroom. These icons help to non verbally communicate what it is we staff members are expecting from our students in the moment, such as \"sit down\", \"listen\", \"give space\". \r\nI can not thank you enough for your contribution and generosity. My students were very happy using the sensory fidgets. Some students shared that it calmed them and that they were able to focus. What I appreciated the most is that they were able to share fidgets and have fun together. It's important for students to interact with each other, especially my student population who are special education students who often isolate themselves.\r\n\r\nWhen I took the fidgets out, the students were so happy specially because they were a variety. It felt like it was Christmas in my classroom. They were surprised we received a donation. I explained that we will be using the fidgets in our small reading groups. Each student selected a fidget of their choice. \r\n\r\nOverall, having fidgets available to students calms them down. Students look forward to trying one a different day. I look forward to using them with my new students.","fullyFundedDate":1744032959120,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-fidgets-for-awesome-middle-schoo/9178830/","projectTitle":"Sensory Fidgets for Awesome Middle School Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cuevas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9970809"},{"teacherId":9527412,"projectId":8913124,"letterContent":"When my students first saw their new popcorn machine their eyes lit up and they were so excited! The students immediately wanted to take turns turning on the buttons, flipping the popper, and scooping the popcorn. \r\nNow, every Wednesday the students look forward to having their turn to take on different jobs with machine as well as serving the popcorn to their peers at lunchtime. It has been so fun to watch them take on leadership roles, grow their confidence, and become more social for many of them. We have also been able to raise money to take various field trips in the community including bowling and a local restaurant.\r\nYour donation has not just provided a machine-it has given my students purpose, pride and a way to be seen and valued by their school community.\r\nA million thanks for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1740510843636,"projectUrl":"project/working-hard-to-keep-up-with-demand-ple/8913124/","projectTitle":"Working Hard to Keep Up With Demand. They all got a chance to open things up, take them out, and put them away. That really gave them a sense of ownership and responsibility as they were being so careful when they were putting everything away.\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom. Students look forward to seating that allows them to move their feet or a chance to sit in another type of seat. \r\n\r\nStudents continue to enjoy the small items as weekly prizes for group participation and students of the week who demonstrate the character strengths of heart, will and mind through the week. Students in ELD do not have the opportunity to enjoy other elective classes like band, choir, guitar, art or dance. Our ELD students benefit from hands on learning experiences in our class and that includes the art, projects and supplemented experiences that align with the class core content. When receiving these materials, our students lit up with joy and excitement. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of my recent DonorsChoose project, \"Beginning of the School Year Refresh.\" Thanks to your kindness, my 6th-grade students and I now have the resources to increase engagement and provide the necessary materials for learning after my maternity leave left the classroom a wreck.\r\n\r\nIn fact, your contribution has already made a difference in our classroom environment. For example, students now have headphones to engage in their online grammar lessons and, for struggling readers and those with disabilities, help have curricular text read aloud through our online textbook. This helps them to develop stronger reading and writing skills as well as access grade-level material. \r\n\r\nSeeing my students' excitement as we unpacked these materials was an unforgettable moment. They couldn't wait to win a calming strip from my rewards bin, which helped to motivate and reward positive behaviors, and they immediately benefited from how the ceiling light covers reduced glare on my classroom monitor. I wish I could load before and after shots of my calming corner, too. The posters make a huge difference in establishing a warm environment for them to reflect. Seeing my classroom be transformed reminds me of the incredible generosity of people like you, who care so deeply about education and the success of young learners.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping to create an environment where they can thrive.
