This owl pellet project is the end to a big raptor study that we do in fifth grade. I teach about the local ecology and the effects of DDT on our population of bald eagles. We study different raptors and how the whole food chain is affected. \r\n\r\nOur local raptor wildlife rescue comes to talk to students about their mission and has some very interesting hands on activities to do. Students love hearing from them!\r\n\r\nWe then wrap up the unit with an owl pellet day.
