Because all the students got to choose their topics and ha different videos they had to find, being able to have everyone use headphones to avoid overlap of sound was amazingly helpful. Our world has shifted so that much of the information students will be exposed to is going to be in a video format- giving that space and guidance in the classroom is essential for our students.\r\n\r\nOnce my students discovered the mice, it actually encouraged students who normally would lag behind or check out of lessons to get involved. I knew that the trackpads were a barrier to some, but I was astounded by how many students were positively impacted in a visible way in the classroom. This year the students have been incredibly grateful for having pencils and good pens to use each class- last year, we went through 1000 pencils in the first semester alone, but this year the students seem more apt to treat the class supplies respectfully after the supplies arrived and I explained that they were donated. My students always blow my mind with how they respond to generosity. \r\n\r\nThe folders have been exceptionally helpful for students that don't have access to regular supplies from home. They are always glad that I have them on hand when I ask them if they need a folder. It may seem small or insignificant, but even high school students can have their day turned around by a new folder and the smiles of gratitude are amazing.
