We use the cubbies every day as part of our arrival procedure, and the children are learning independence by hanging up their backpacks and putting their items away all on their own.\r\n\r\nOne special moment happened during the first morning the cubbies were set up. As the students walked in, their faces lit up. Several ran over to find their names or picture labels, proudly announcing, \"This is mine!\" Many of our students benefit from strong visual supports, so having their own designated space immediately helped them understand where their things go. That sense of ownership was so heartwarming to watch.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are now able to build stronger routines around self-help skills, responsibility, and organization. Our next steps include incorporating the cubbies into lessons on independence and sequencing—for example, teaching students the step-by-step process for arriving at school, packing up for home, and caring for their personal items.
