A student who typically has trouble sitting still during lessons chose a floor cushion and lap desk combo. He stayed engaged for the entire 20-minute session—for the first time all year. Another student with anxiety about group work now confidently joins peer activities while seated on a wobble stool, feeling grounded and secure.\r\n\r\nThese seating options have allowed my students to take more ownership of their learning space. Every morning, they choose a spot that helps them feel their best—just like adults do in a workplace. This simple shift has improved classroom behavior, increased engagement, and created a more peaceful, student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nWe're now integrating flexible seating into all subjects—from math centers to independent writing to art projects.
