Thank you so much for your generous support! We are truly grateful for all the donations that helped make this classroom a cozier space for students.\r\n\r\nBecause of your contribution, I was able to offer therapeutic services to over 20 newcomer students. Your support directly helped in establishing a safe space on campus where kids could unwind, enjoy yummy snacks, and receive emotional support during challenging days. In particular my students enjoyed the arts and crafts supplies proved through your donations. It was very moving watching all the ways they could express themselves through art.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a real difference in the lives of these students, and I couldn't have done this work without you. Students have unanimously loved the snacks that you made possible to provide for them including pretzels, chips, cereal bars, and gummies and were SO excited to be able to eat them. These snacks have helped students connect with me as a therapist and social worker, and have also provided sustenance when students with limited access to food have been hungry at school. Being able to provide them with food allows them to connect with me and to be able to engage academically in a way that they cannot when they are hungry. The snacks were also a big asset to my therapy and lunch groups and students always looked forward to starting the groups with a fun snack!\r\n\r\nThank you for providing the Spot It! game for newcomer students to play with - it has been a huge hit. I use games to build relationships with students, between students, and also to provide play therapy. \r\n\r\nI am also grateful for the essential oils and the Tibetan singing bowl. These supplies allow students to enjoy a calm and therapeutic environment in my offices. The singing bowl was especially integral in bringing a sense of peace to one of my middle school boys groups. The essential oils are also a great way to explore sensory coping skills with students.\r\n\r\nLastly, thank you for helping fund the visual timer. It is very helpful for students and for me to know how much time we have left during our sessions and this is a fun and clear way to provide this information.\r\n\r\nYou have truly made a difference in the therapeutic opportunities that newcomer students have access to and to the high quality of my office space for them - thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1757375241598,"projectUrl":"project/therapy-supplies-and-snacks-for-newcomer/9504881/","projectTitle":"Therapy Supplies and Snacks for Newcomers From Around the Globe!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sabrina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9679605"},{"teacherId":7041895,"projectId":9652901,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our classroom. Because of you, my students now have access to essential school supplies that have truly transformed our daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from households where purchasing basic materials can be a challenge. Thanks to your support, every student now has access to items like notebooks, pencils, markers, folders, and other classroom essentials—allowing them to fully participate without worrying about not having what they need. This sense of preparedness has increased their confidence and willingness to engage in learning.\r\n\r\nThe supplies have also made a noticeable difference in our classroom routines. Students are able to stay organized, complete assignments more independently, and focus more on learning rather than on sharing or borrowing materials. For my students who receive special education services, having consistent, personal supplies has supported their ability to follow routines, practice fine-motor skills, and build independence throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these materials have helped foster a sense of pride and ownership. Students take better care of their work and feel valued knowing that others believed in them enough to provide these resources. My students' eyes lit up when they saw the boxes filled with colorful tie-dye kits, clay, and brand-new art tools. One student exclaimed, \"This is better than Christmas!\" For many of them, this was their first time working with real clay or creating wearable art.\r\n\r\nWe recently completed our first big project—designing and sculpting small clay creatures inspired by their favorite animals and imaginary characters. The focus, collaboration, and pride in their finished pieces were incredible to witness. Students who are often quiet and reserved found their voices through their creations, sharing stories about their sculptures with the class.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're diving into our tie-dye unit! Students will be learning about color theory and fabric design as they create their own wearable art. They're already buzzing with ideas for patterns and color combinations. This project is more than just fun—it's giving them ownership of their creativity and a tangible way to express themselves.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible.
