We also received character figurines and stickers with some of their favorite characters, serving as a great reinforcer for them. These events are so necessary to ensure student safety during an emergency event, but practicing for the emergency can still put a lot of stress on students, particularly many of the children in my class that have Autism and heightened sensitivity to noise. Keeping them safe is paramount. These headphones are also helpful for events like school assemblies and even in the classroom when there is atypical noise levels. Having so many pairs also guarantees that I can share with my general education peers when their students also experience noise aversions. When teaching my students about different strategies to aid regulation, having the necessary tools really makes such a big difference.","fullyFundedDate":1758636766150,"projectUrl":"project/blocking-out-the-noise/9658810/","projectTitle":"Blocking out the Noise","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9273656_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694519756023","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9273656"},{"teacherId":9273656,"projectId":9087289,"letterContent":"I go through laminating sheets and packing tape like crazy in my special education classroom. Laminating sheets are helpful because they allow me to make materials that are reusable, which is necessary for repetition with my students, as well as to reinforce materials that get handled frequently. With the laminating sheets and packing tape that were purchased, I was able to laminate \"core words\" and tape them to our front board to make a core word wall for my students. This will help reinforce verbal language, receptive understanding, and vocabulary. This is a project I have been wanting to do, but with how much need there is for me to laminate student materials I wasn't able to spare laminating sheets. With your support I was able to bring this project to life (and help my students adjust to loud noises like fire drills using the noise cancelling headphones)!","fullyFundedDate":1738984645443,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-my-kindergarteners-with-auti/9087289/","projectTitle":"\"Supporting My Kindergarteners with Autism: Sensory Tools and Reusable Resources\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9273656_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694519756023","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9273656"},{"teacherId":9273656,"projectId":8718786,"letterContent":"My students are unique learners that receive the most benefit when working with materials in a hands on way.
