We introduced these games for the first time just last week, and Fridays have quickly become \"Friday Fun Day.\" When students found out that math games were now part of their Friday routine, they were excited!\r\n\r\nThese new math resources also help us balance our intervention offerings, since our ELA games were already well-stocked but our math selection needed to catch up. Looking ahead, we hope to continue expanding our math game library so that we eventually have engaging game options covering every major math skill our students need to practice. Your support has already made a visible difference and we're excited to keep building on this momentum.","fullyFundedDate":1774446357212,"projectUrl":"project/press-play-on-progress-why-math-games-b/10069452/","projectTitle":"Press Play on Progress: Why Math Games Belong in Intervention","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8331123_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749094965955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8331123"},{"teacherId":8331123,"projectId":10076521,"letterContent":"Our students are using the prize cart as a powerful daily motivator during academic intervention rotations, where they earn their way toward prizes by showing iReady growth and following intervention procedures in class. This system has extended beyond just the students receiving direct intervention services, with students outside of intervention groups also working to earn rewards through their own growth and effort. When students first saw the prize cart and the many options available to them, they were thrilled and immediately started talking about which prizes they wanted to work toward, which sparked an instant boost in engagement and focus during intervention time.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next step is to keep this momentum going year-round so that the positive impact on engagement doesn't fade after the initial excitement wears off. We plan to continue tracking iReady growth data closely and celebrating student progress regularly, using the prize cart as an ongoing incentive tied to real academic gains. We were able to learn about the human body systems with an engaging, hands-on, and exciting resource. We learned about the systems of the body and then used the models to enhance our learning by working in pairs to construct the model. It was a very fun and challenging activity! \r\n\r\nAt first, my students were a bit puzzled by the micro-models, but quickly used critical thinking and worked together to successfully build the models.
