They express their creativity by making works of art with the art supplies. For example, last week a student made a beautiful puppet using a paper bag, paint sticks, and more. Others develop their engineering skills by constructing simple machines — one student built one using a box, fuzzy sticks, and art supplies. Students also use their creations to connect with classmates: they love to decorate mini journals, write messages in them, and share them with friends.\r\n\r\nWe also use the Mini-Maker Space for whole-class projects, where our cardboard cutting tools never fail to inspire something amazing.\r\nYour generous donations make a positive difference — thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1774446494241,"projectUrl":"project/mini-maker-space-restock/10100532/","projectTitle":"Mini Maker Space Restock","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Povinelli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp975139_orig.jpg?crop=873,873,x252,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659117381246","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/975139"},{"teacherId":6995925,"projectId":9318176,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom art supplies project. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in our students' daily learning experiences. Because of your generosity, my students have access to materials that allow them to express themselves creatively, take pride in their work, and bring their ideas to life in ways that words alone cannot always capture.\r\n\r\nThe art supplies have been used across many areas of our classroom, from science and social studies projects to reading responses and creative writing extensions. Students have created posters, illustrations, maps, diagrams, and hands-on projects that help deepen their understanding of what they are learning. The ability to use color, design, and visual thinking has made lessons more engaging and has helped students better retain important concepts.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these materials have had a powerful impact on student confidence and self-expression. Some of my students who may be hesitant to participate verbally have truly shined through their artistic work. The supplies have provided an outlet for creativity, collaboration, and pride in their accomplishments. It has been wonderful to see students excited to share their projects with classmates and families.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom and in my students. Your generosity supports not only their academic growth, but also their creativity, confidence, and joy in learning. It's a reward for having completed their homework and participating appropriately in class that week. Last Friday we had game centers, and it was everything I had imagined it could be! There were tables of games with groups playing on the floor, both with card games and board games and it was beautiful.\r\n\r\nThe room was filled with laughter, conversation, and students working together in ways that we don't always get to see during regular lessons. They practiced taking turns, following rules, solving problems, and encouraging one another. It was wonderful to watch them collaborate, show patience, and celebrate small victories together. Moments like these remind me that learning also happens through play, teamwork, and building positive relationships with classmates. It truly felt like a classroom community enjoying time together.\r\n\r\nThank you!","fullyFundedDate":1742582674814,"projectUrl":"project/turn-learning-into-fun-support-our-clas/9177802/","projectTitle":"Turn Learning Into Fun: Support Our Classroom Game Initiative","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Alstadt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6995925_orig.jpg?crop=992,992,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742273961549","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6995925"},{"teacherId":975139,"projectId":9486205,"letterContent":"You've made such a positive impact in our classroom this year. I wish you could see the smiles and joy on my students' faces!\r\n\r\nWhen I brought out the Chomp-Chomp Saw, the room filled with ooohs and ahhhs. The students couldn't believe this incredible machine would be something they could actually use. For our first project, we traced friendly ghosts onto the cardboard pieces you provided. Then, one at a time, each student came to the saw with me right beside them to safely cut out their shape. Afterwards, they painted their ghosts and hung them in our classroom. They'll get to take them home on Halloween—and they can't wait!\r\n\r\nNext, we'll dive into problem-solving by building three-dimensional creations that serve a purpose. For example, I'll set up a \"river\" with a toy elephant on one side and challenge students to invent something to help the elephant cross. Once we've built our skills, we plan to invite a 5th-grade class to join us. I'm excited to see creativity and collaboration spread!\r\n\r\nThank you for your kindness and generosity.
