It's because of your desire to give to our schools that my students get the extras they deserve! As mentioned in my project, our class is unique; we communicate using our hands. Whether we are using ASL with our hands, holding a pencil with our hands, or using crayons with our hands. These are all ways we express & communicate our needs, wants ideas & share our stories. These resources have already made a world of difference for my students. The sensory tent has quickly become a go-to spot when things get too overwhelming, offering a quiet place where they can recharge and return to their work with renewed focus. The fidget tools and sensory toys are a huge hit as well—my students have discovered how they can use them to release extra energy, which helps them settle back into their tasks much more easily. Just the other day, one of my students curled up in the bean bag with a book about emotions and later shared how it helped them calm down and process their feelings.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, you could see the excitement in their eyes. They were so eager to explore the new books and sensory tools, and it was amazing to watch them dive right into using them. The books, in particular, have sparked wonderful conversations about emotions, with students beginning to share more openly about how they feel. It's been heartwarming to see them gain confidence in expressing their emotions and recognizing how to manage them, which is a vital skill both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nLooking forward, we're excited to build on the progress we've made. In the coming weeks, we'll be focusing on applying what we've learned to real-life situations, working together to explore how to handle different emotions through group activities. The support you've provided is setting my students up for success, not just in their academic journeys, but also in building emotional resilience that will serve them for years to come. Thank you for making all of this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1737049129640,"projectUrl":"project/a-calming-corner-for-little-learners/9019681/","projectTitle":"A Calming Corner for Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Larissa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9101304_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725227692832","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9101304"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_121327","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":72.6,"schoolId":121327,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Merced County Office of Education TABS on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Merced County Office of Education TABS","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/merced-county-office-of-education/merced-county-office-of-education-tabs/121327"}
